SABC1 will introduce to its viewers a revamped and refreshed schedule in April, affecting mainly the entertainment offerings in the 18:00 to 18:30 timeslots.
Entertainment shows which will be directly affected by the latest schedule revamp include Mzanzi Insider, Selimathunzi, Seskhona and Jam Alley Crew vs Crew, all of which will now occupy the 18:30 timeslot.
Fans of the The Bold and the Beautiful will also be glad to know that their favourite soapie is returning to its original timeslot at 18:00. Viewers can look forward to a new look and feel, more glamour, fresh music and the introduction of new cast members.
“Our viewers have spoken and the announced revamped schedule starting in April is in direct response to their demands,” says the channel’s publicity head, Vukile Madlala.
“The announced timeslot changes will be extended to also cover individual shows on the channel. The new season of the popular youth show Jam Alley has returned with exciting changes in the form of fresh faces and a change in focus from dance to music. Mzansi’s favourite dance show, Jika Majika, recently returned to our screens with a revamped set and new format. South Africa’s hottest celebrity lifestyle magazine show, RGB, introduced the lovely Pearl Thusi as co-presenter with Phat Joe.”
Show moving timeslots:
- Daddy 24/7, will move from Saturdays to occupy the new 18h30 timeslot on Tuesdays, starting on 03/04.
- Jika Majika, will move from Thursdays into the new 19h00 timeslot on Wednesdays, starting on 04/04.
- RGB, is moving from Tuesdays to Saturdays at 18h00 starting from 06/04.

The 10-part BET docu-series, Trey SongZ: My Moment, will air from Saturday, 1 April at 17:30. The channel will introduce a news service titled Lunch Time News, starting on Monday, 2 April at 13:00, which will air Mondays to Fridays. Viewers will also enjoy a new documentary on xenophobia, racial violence and social unrest, Why Are We So Angry?, on Tuesday, 3 April at 21:00; and a sports preview show that will start airing on the channel on Thursday, 5 April at 19:00.
