The West Rand District Municipality launched GO WEST!, an annual Heritage Week festival conceptualised and designed for the people of the greater West Rand District Municipality. Gauteng Province as a whole and rest of South Africa.
The festival has a series of events that will run from Friday. 21 September 2012 and end Sunday, 23 September 2012.
Festival events will be hosted in all four municipalities: Mogale City, Westonaria, Randfontein and Merafong City

Friday, 21 Sep 2012 – Go West! Youth Bash (Donaldson Dam, Randfontein)
Featuring:
Black Coffee, DJ Cleo, L’volvo, DJ Oskido, DJ Zinhle, Big Nuz, A.K.A.,Locnville, HHP and and many more.
Saturday, 22 Sept 2012 – Go West! Gospel Concert (Carletonville Sports Complex)
Featuring:
Sechaba, Solly Mahlangu, Rebecca Malope, Barorisi Ba Morena and many more.
Sunday, 23 Sept 2012 - Go West! Festival In The Park (Coronation Park, Mogale City)
Featuring:
Zahara, Caiphus Semenya, Mi Casa, Kurt Darren, Dave van Vuuren, aKING, Mafikizolo, Jaziel Brothers, Stimela, Ringo, Lloyd Cele and many more.
